Could you dedicate a few hours to help your environment?

If you want to get outdoors and do something useful to help your local environment, the join the Nowton Park Volunteers.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks at Nowton park and Hardwick Heath and the Saxon Gate Nature Reserve. Previous experience is not needed and there is work for people of all abilities.

Volunteers meet every other Tuesday and every other Sunday.

Join the Rangers and help with a variety of seasonal tasks:

  • Woodland management
  • planting bulbs, trees and flowers
  • maintaining a bird feeding area
  • vegetation control
  • pond maintenance
  • footpath maintenance
  • .....and many other tasks.

Tools, gloves and refreshments are provided. Please wear comfortable waterproof clothing and stout footwear

Saxon Gate Nature Reserve - The 2006 work parties will be taking place on the following Sundays from 10am – Noon:

March 12
April 9
June 4
August 13
October 8

Please wear weatherproof clothing and stout footwear. Light refreshments will be provided.

Saxon Gate Nature Reserve is located off Southgate Street, on Rockingham Road/Sextons Meadow.
